Gabriela Albuquerque
HELLO! I'm Gabriela. I've been living outside Brazil since 2014, first in the USA and now in Lisbon, Portugal. All my residences have added layers of meaning and search to my work, which reflect, above all, the role of women, mothers and artists, within this globalized world that constantly challenges us. I like experimentation and my research makes use of all the techniques and materials available. Drawing, photography, painting, video and writing are my forms of expression. Reality and my surroundings are what drive me to create and think about how to artistically translate what passes through me.
